Dutch champions FC Twente scored their first ever victory in the Champions League on Tuesday beating Werder Bremen two-nil in an away match.
Twente had to play without star player Theo Janssen and striker Wout Brama due to injuries. The Dutch team needed to step up its game as two weeks ago, FC Twente drew 1-1 against the German team at home.
The goals came in the second half after Werder's Torsten Frings was sent off for a foul against Bryan Ruiz.
The first goal by Nacer Chadli only came in the 81st minute and three minutes later Luuk De Jong headed the ball into the net sealing a victory for Twente. As a result the Dutch team is still in the running for the next round of the competition with five points. Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan both have seven points.
Twente play Inter in three weeks time.
