Extradition of Mladic could take a week

The Serbian prosecutor for war crimes has announced that the extradition of suspected war criminal Ratko Mladic to the Yugoslavia Tribunal in The Hague may take a week.

Earlier, Serbian state television reported that the former military leader of the Bosnian Serbs was already en route to The Hague.

Serbian President Boris Tadic announced the arrest of the most wanted war criminal from the former Yugoslavia on Thursday. He said the extradition procedure had been set in motion but did not mention a specific time frame.
