Published on 23 April 2012 - 2:38pm
More about:

A special Icelandic court on Monday found former prime minister Geir Haarde guilty on one of four charges over the collapse of the country's banks in 2008.

"Geir Haarde will not be punished," Markus Sigurbjornsson, the head of the never-before-used special court Landsdomur, said, adding that Haarde had been found guilty of not meeting with his cabinet ministers when the issue turned critical.
