The Dutch are the world’s most active users of the Twitter instant messaging service.
A French research bureau reached this conclusion after analysing millions of Twitter accounts.
Many people use Twitter only to read the messages posted by others, but the Dutch, and in second place the Japanese, are also prolific writers of tweets.
The United States has the largest number of Twitter accounts: more than 107 million.
