Dutch transport plane lands in Libya

The military transport plane which left Eindhoven on Wednesday to pick up Dutch nationals who want to leave Libya arrived in Tripoli this morning,

The Hercules C-130 made an intermediate landing in Sicily in the afternoon and it was decided for safety reasons not to leave for Libya until the morning.

The Dutch embassy has a list of 77 Dutch people registered as residing in Libya. Of these, 20 have indicated that they want to be evacuated.

It's not known how many people are waiting to leave at Tripoli airport. The transport has room for 50 people.
