Dutch Railways subsidiary Abellio will be carrying passengers to the Olympic Park during the Summer Olympic Games in London. The company has been awarded the contract for running train services on the Greater Anglia route connecting Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.
Dutch Railways (NS) announced the news on Thursday. Abellio is taking over the Greater Anglia franchise from two other companies whose performance was considered sub-standard. The contract covers a 29-month period.
Abellio has pledged to improve stations, introduce new facilities and provide better information for passengers.
