Police in Maastricht in the south of the Netherlands say they have arrested a woman of 75 for working as a drugs runner.

Officers stopped the woman in her car because she was not wearing a seat belt. They saw her quickly throw something out of the window and found it to be a small amount of cocaine. She soon admitted she was also carrying some marijuana.

She explained that she earned a small amount by working as a drugs courier in order to pay for food for her many cats. She promised not to do it again and escaped with a police warning.
