Dutch Foreign Minister Uri Rosenthal has joined international voices calling for the resignation of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad.

Addressing the subject of the Syrian regime’s continuing violence against its own people, Mr Rosenthal said enough was enough. He added that European Union ambassadors were going to meet to discuss tightening the bloc’s sanctions against Syria. The idea of a meeting was put forward by the Netherlands.
