More about:

Amsterdam-based software producer WiQET Media has become the first ever Dutch company to be allowed to run a web application on US auction website eBay.

The brand new web app, called WiQET, will enable eBay's millions of users to tempt buyers with a photo slideshow of the goods they want to sell and to sing their praises by adding a spoken message.

The application, which went live on Thursday, is one of the first 42 applications to be featured on eBay.

It represents a major commercial breakthrough for the Dutch firm said WiQET Media's founder, Mark Fontein. The firm gives a percentage of its takings to eBay but is free to set its own price for buyers of the app.
