Finance Minister Jan Kees de Jager is optimistic that agreement will be reached about collateral for the emergency loans to Greece.
He made his statement in an interview with Dutch public radio just before he left for Berlin, where he will meet his German and Finnish colleagues.
Mr De Jager's remarks appear to support the view expressed by EU President Herman van Rompuy on Monday that an agreement about collateral is within reach. “That is very well possible,” Mr De Jager said. “We are making progress. Some steps forward have been taken.”
