Dutch F16s in action in Afghanistan

Published on 17 April 2012 - 6:03pm
More about:

Two Dutch F16s came to the aid of US troops in the East Afghan province of Badghis today. The Americans were under attack by rebels. The F16s dropped a number of bombs. According to the Ministry of Defence the operation was successful.

The Dutch planes were already in the air when a request came from the US troops. It is the second time that F16s have bombed rebel posts since they have been stationed in Mazar-e-Sharif to support a Dutch police training mission in the province of Kunduz.
