Dutch exports show slight increase

Published on 15 June 2011 - 1:32pm
More about:

The total volume of Dutch exports in April rose by four percent compared to the same period last year, a slight improvement over the previous month. The most recent figures published by Statistics Netherlands (CBS) show that imports decreased by half a percent in April.

The total value of Dutch exports amounted to 33.1 billion euros, nearly 12 percent more than in April 2010. The total value of imports rose by eight percent to 29.2 billion euros, bringing the trade surplus to 3.9 billion euros; 1.4 billion more than in April 2010.

The CBS also reported a substantial increase in the value of imports and exports of raw materials and mineral fuels. The value of food and beverage imports also showed a marked increase, mainly as the result of higher food and oil prices.
