Dutch embassy in Yemen capital closes

Published on 4 June 2011 - 7:34pm
More about:

The Dutch embassy in Yemen’s capital Sanaa has closed its doors due to the worsening security situation in the region, says the foreign ministry on its website.

The foreign ministry ordered the closure after close consultations with European Union member states.

In all, 44 Dutch nationals are thought to be in Yemen. They have been informed of the closure and, over the past weeks, have been repeatedly urged to leave the country as soon as possible.
