The Dutch economy has all but stalled.
The Economic Barometer published by business website Z24 shows a 0.4 percent shrinkage in November followed by an estimated 0.3 percent growth in December, mainly as a result of the holiday season.
Z24 Editor in Chief Arend van den Berg commented: “The latest results show that the economy is merely ticking over.”
Earlier this month the Dutch statistics office released figures showing that the Dutch economy shrank by 0.3 percent in the third quarter compared to the second quarter. However the economy grew by 1.1 percent compared to the same period in 2010.
