The Socialist Party wants Defence Minister Hans Hillen to investigate whether prisoners handed over by the Dutch troops to the Iraqi authorities were tortured.
The SP will present a formal request during the debate on the government policy statement due to be held in parliament this week.
The move comes after secret US documents revealed by whistleblowing website Wikileaks show hundreds of prisoners were abused and tortured by Iraqi policy and military. Several newspapers and analysts who have studied the leaked US documents say it is evident the US military was clearly aware of the cases but failed to prosecute them.
The SP MP Harry van Bommel, who will present the request, will also ask the Dutch government to press Washington to investigate the allegations.
Dutch troops served in Iraq between July 2003 and March 2005 as part of the Stabilisation Force Iraq (SFIR).
