Christian Union MP Joël Voordewind wants to put an end to hatemongering from Holocaust deniers on the internet.
On Tuesday, he will defend a bill intended to prevent insults against Jews and Israel as well as denials of the Holocaust and other genocides intended to incite hatred.
The Christian Union MP believes the past few years have seen a substantial increase in verbal violence against Jews on the internet. Mr Voordewind also emphasised that European rules should encourage the Netherlands to penalise discriminatory denials. The MP says he wants to set a legal norm, which would allow the courts to act against people seeking to incite hatred.

Totally disheartening. But at this point it is easy to see who the wanna-be tyrants are. Maybe that's the positive in this. Like Chomsky made clear when standing up for David Irving's right to speak on the subject(and on said subject Chomsky did NOT agree with Irving's views)-free speech is where you stand up for another person's right to speak regardless of what is being spoken,even if you vehemently disagree with it. You don't have that freedom if certain subjects are off limits. What did Chomsky get for this defense of free speech? Chomsky, a born and raised Jew, got labeled a "self hater" for his defense of a necessary principle of any free society,by the usual suspects who always resort to ad-hominem attacks because the grounds on which they argue for curtailment of speech on certain subjects are patently fallacious. But as one erudite Israeli pointed out quite astutely, at this point the label of anti-semite is not one who hates Jewish people, but instead it is a person whom the "perceived proponents of the highest interests of the zionist state" hate. Folks like Sandra who advocate the curtailment of personal freedoms are personally goose-stepping to the new soft tyranny, unaware they are advocating the demise of their own freedoms at the same time.
