A Dutch Protestant primary school has been told it may not sack one of its teachers simply because he divorced his wife and started living with a man.
The conservative Christian Dr K Schilder primary school in the town of Oegstgeest, north of The Hague, argues that Duran Renkema's behaviour made his departure inevitable. However, a Dutch court ruled the man's open homosexuality was not reason enough to end his employment contract.
