Chelsea are through to the Champions League quarter finals after eliminating Danish club FC Kopenhagen in a home game at Stamford Bridge. A goalless draw was enough for the Blues after their 2-0 away victory.
Chelsea are the third UK club to make it to the quarter finals. Earlier, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur joined the final eight of the tournament, which also includes Inter Milan.
In Spain, Real Madrid succeeded in reaching the final eight for the first time since 2004. Real beat Olympique Lyon 3-0, a result that did not do justice to Real’s superiority over the French team. Marcelo, Karim Benzema and Angel di Maria scored the goals.
