The Frisian Eleven Cities Tour Association is staying sanguine about the chances of being able to hold an event this winter.
Meteorologists are forecasting a thaw beginning on Sunday 12 February, so that day would be the last chance to hold the Tour for the time being. But spokesperson Immie Jonkman said on Tuesday that the association always decides for itself whether the Tour will take place.
She emphasized that the Tour is only held if there is enough ice. Whether the thickness of the ice will be sufficient is difficult to judge, she said, and the association's own experts will make the final decision.
