Even though a growing number of Dutch citizens believe it’s time the institution underwent a facelift, more than 75 percent still support the monarchy.
These are the results of a survey conducted among 500 Dutch citizens by the Synovate research bureau.
More than 25 percent would prefer a more ceremonial role for the monarchy, compared to 50 percent who are happy to keep things the way they are. Eleven percent of those interviewed want to abolish the monarchy; nine percent had no opinion on the subject.
