Bomb in Pakistan southwest kills two: police

Published on 9 September 2010 - 9:48am

A bomb near a provincial minister's house in Pakistan's southwestern city of Quetta killed two people and left two others seriously injured Thursday, a senior police officer told AFP.

Hamid Shakil corrected an earlier toll after previously saying that four people had been killed.

"Correction, there are two dead and two seriously injured," said Shakil.

"The bomb was fitted under a vehicle parked close to the provincial minister's house," he said.

Quetta police chief Abid Hussain Nautkani confirmed the blast near the house of Balochistan provincial finance minister Asim Kurd Ghilo.
