AZ lose Europa League match

Dutch football club AZ have lost 1-2 in Norway to Aalesunds FK in the Europa League play-offs. AZ trained by Gertjan Verbeek will play their second match against Aalesunds next week at home in Alkmaar.

Michael Barrantes scored the first goal for Aalesunds from a penalty just over ten minutes into the game. Maarten Martens equalised for AZ with a header not long before half-time, but Barrantes scored again in the second half to make it 2-1 for the Norwegians.
