AZ Alkmaar won comfortably against Mälmo FF in their first match in UEFA Europa League Group G on Thursday evening with four goals by as many players.
After 21 minutes, US international Jozy Altidore opened the score against the Swedish side with a long-range strike before Rasmus Elm converted a penalty to make it 2-0.
AZ's new signing Adam Maher netted number three before half-time. Australia's Brett Holman put in the fourth goal after the break before the Swedish guests got their consolation goal from the penalty spot 20 minutes before the final whistle.
