Anne Frank museum set for record number of visitors

Published on 6 December 2010 - 10:15pm
More about:

On Monday, Amsterdam’s Anne Frank House welcomed the millionth person to have visited the museum this year.

Museum staff expect 2010 to break the record for the number of visitors in one year. The present record was set in 2007 when 1,002,902 people visited the Anne Frank House. Most of its visitors are young people from outside the Netherlands.

Queen Beatrix was at the museum on 28 April this year, the day it celebrated its 50th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the Secret Annex Online was launched which allows visitors to the museum’s website to wander around Anne Frank’s hiding place in virtual 3D.
