The conservative VVD in Amsterdam wants to close down the activists’ camp erected by Occupy Amsterdam in Beursplein square.

Amsterdam party leader Robert Flos believes Mayor Eberhard van der Laan should initiate dialogue with the activists on the subject.

Mr Flos wants the camp to close next week, he said on Friday.

“It is not acceptable to have a permanent anti-globalist miniature camp site in the city,” he said.
