A man has been arrested at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport following a bomb threat.
The man, described as most likely mentally disturbed, was overpowered by border police after claiming to have a bomb and locking himself in a toilet.
Police says no explosives were found either in the man's baggage or anywhere in the airport.
Two departure lounges were evacuated for some time and this led to the serious disruption of flights. Nearly all departures to European destinations were delayed and dozens of flights ended up being cancelled.
Schiphol says airlines have suffered heavy losses because of the disruption caused by the bomb scare. Passengers are facing knock-on delays through Monday evening.
