The father of a sexually abused girl attacked the alleged abuser in a Dutch court on Thursday.

When the accused appeared before the judges in the city of Zwolle, he was told of a new accusation of indecent assault, in addition to an earlier one of taking pornographic pictures of the victim. The father, who had not been told of the new accusation, jumped out of the public gallery and attempted to strangle the accused, according to a report in regional paper De Stentor.

Court guards intervened and removed the angry father from the courtroom. The accused was not harmed.

The case was a spin-off of a major international inquiry into online child pornography.
