Dutch bank ABN Amro has announced yet another wave of redundancies, though the exact number of lost jobs is not yet clear.
ABN Amro CEO Gerrit Zalm has already informed staff of the redundancies, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reports.
The move is likely to see hundreds of jobs axed. Jaap Koelewijn, professor at Nyenrode University, warns the figure could be anywhere between 1,000 and 2,000.
The bank already shed 6,500 jobs when it merged with Fortis bank.
In an email sent to all the bank’s workers, Mr Zalm calls for greater efficiency.
He also intends to achieve further savings through automation and a reduction in administrative procedures.
The email did not mention any redundancies.

After the easy stuff firing redundant bank tellers, they'll need to cull a lot of management. This will be difficult as the record of this bank reads poorly in this respect. At the end of this you probably don't want to be a bank teller...thats where the cuts will hit again...leaving costs where they were..
