Honduras' ousted President Manuel Zelaya has called on his supporters to stage new mass protests. Mr Zelaya says he is no longer bound to the dialogue with the country's new de facto ruler, Roberto Micheletti, as he considers last week's power-sharing deal failed.
Under the deal, Mr Micheletti would form a government of national unity. The new cabinet does not, however, include any of Mr Zelaya's representatives. Mr Zelaya says he will not put forward any candidates as long as he himself is not reinstated as president.
The United States has voiced disappointment at the failure to break the country's political stalemate. The State Department says it hopes the two sides will try to continue to find a solution.
