Two boys aged 12 and 13 who are suspected of involvement in the killing of 14-year-old Dirk Post in the small town of Urk have been allowed to continue their custody at home. The public prosecutor decided on Monday that their custody will be extended by three days, but they don't have to spend it in a police cell.
The third suspect, who is 15, has not been granted restricted freedom and remains in jail. He will appear before magistrates on Tuesday.
Dirk Post's body was found last Wednesday in a park in Urk. He will be buried today after a service at the local church. The small, tightly-knit and deeply religious community is in shock about the killing.
