A furore over Danish cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad in 2005 sparked the idea of a counter-offensive by cartoonists around the world.
The international video journalist and cartoonists platform, VJ Movement, asked cartoonists in Islamic and other countries how they saw the increasing criticism of Islam in Europe.
The call produced 30 satirical drawings, most of them featuring Dutch rightwing anti-Islam MP Geert Wilders. Six are shown in the slideshow below.
According to spokesman Tjeerd Rooyaards of The Hague-based VJ Movement, "Mr Wilders' face is well-suited to being caricatured". Next month, VJ movement will launch a separate platform, Cartoon Movement.

Pretty feeble attempts at 'thrashing' Geert. The phrase 'water off a ducks back' comes to mind. Waiting for rioting by Dutch people showing their outrage. I think I'll be in for a long wait. Nobody does outrage as well as sleighted Islamists. Watching them foaming at the mouth like rabid dogs, now that is funny.
Geert Wilders cartoons are not news. He's a politician. There have been plenty better than these, both pro and con, as a simple google image search (geert wilders cartoon) shows:

Mr Wilders isn't going to go murder anyone because of these cartoons, because he has thicker skin than that. He can take the criticism. The same cannot be said about many in the Islamic community. The cartoons controversy showed us that pretty vividly. So I'm not actually sure what point the cartoonists here are trying to make, except perhaps that they are happy to give but can't take?

A saying goes that any free publicity is good. This applies to Geert as well, as these cartoons do more than well to deflect the controversies surrounding certain of his elected supporters over the last two weeks. Now there is at least a new humerous perspective to interpret Geert in the public sphere. The globalization of Geert through these cartoons gives him what he aspires to in terms of his being the world's leading figure vis-a-vis Islam. There will be of course, a great deal of response to these cartoons, both pro and con. along a range of extremely serious to satirical. But nonetheless it must be well remembered who Geert is and what he is attempting within the Netherlands and internationally.
Susan, it seems that Westerners only accept freedom of speech if it's theirs. As soon as an idea which conflicts with theirs comes up it becomes evil and shouldn't be allowed. This is a legitimate way to show a groups sentiments on what they believe is unfair prejudice.

Back that up. You give no evidence to support that. Contrary to your opinion, Westerners are tolerant to a fault and will almost never stand up to "evil" until it hits them in the face.
This movement clearly shows that Muslims don't understand free speech. Westerners accept parody and mockery as a part of free speech and, as such, there won't be any murders or vandalism because someone gets offended. In essence, we can take a joke and they can't. The result of this movement will be that they will prove the West's tolerance and sophisticated concept of freedom vis-a-vis their intolerance and barbarity. In that sense, they are helping Wilders, not hurting him.
JW, one definition of parody of is: "A feeble or ridiculous imitation". Are you using yourself as an example of a normal, human being?
Wilders is himself a parody of a normal human being. No artistic embellishment required.
