WFP: third of North Korean children underfed

Published on 7 September 2009 - 3:13pm
More about:

The World Food Programme, WFP, reports that 37 percent of North Korean children under five are malnourished and that one third of women are malnourished and anaemic. Malnourished women often give birth to undernourished babies and cannot breast feed their children.

Hundreds of thousands of people have died from famine since the 1990s. Foreign food donations have been cut back drastically since July as a result of the North Korean nuclear programme. North Korea was promised more than six million food packages but has so far received only 1.3 million.

"North Koreans malnourished".......Now, how could that happen in a country where nuclear weapons are made and from a country that exports military weapons to countries like Iran and Syria? Now, the EU is great at arresting dictators from places like the Congo or Croatia in the name of "freedom" of the people but when it comes to Korea, it appease the little dictator and lets millions of humans starve. I guess the One World Order is not yet ready to get it's toes stepped on by a little, Korean dictator who cares nothing about letting his people starve. Now, there is another option: The Korean people can stand-up and fight for their liberties but that might be hard to do when their dictator took away their rights to own guns. { I wonder if people will every understand why U.S. citizens have a right to own guns? It is to protect their freedoms from a tyrant government. The EU and UN has some responsibility to help those hungry people but not a the point of appeasement. They are just as guilty of genocide of the Korean people as their little dictator. Failure to help, especially when you can, makes you guilty of the same crime.
