Wageningen University in the east of the Netherlands has been judgest best university of 2009 by an independent review. In its annual guide to the Netherlands' universities, the higher education press agency (HOP) is praising the small-scale, intensive education system at Wageningen.
The guide lists bachelor courses in 20 universities and specifies the job prospects for each study. Physicians, accountants and theologists have a reasonable chance of finding a job, while those completing courses in architecture and information theory are less likely to be in a job soon.
The aim of the guide is to help people deciding on the next stage in their education, be it school pupils embarking on academic studies or job training students wanting to deepen their knowledge. The press agency published it first guide 15 years ago.
