      Van Nistelrooij to play for Hamburg

      Dutch footballer Ruud van Nistelrooij will play for German club Hamburger SV for the next 18 months.

      The 33-year-old Real Madrid striker has up to now hardly had a chance to play for the Spanish club.

      Van Nistelrooij hopes playing for the HSV will earn him a place in the Dutch national squad for the World Cup in South Africa later this year.

      There are three other Dutch players at the German club, Joris Mathijssen, Eljero Elia and Romeo Castelen.

      HSV has links with Dutch team PSV from Eindhoven, one of Van Nistelrooij’s old clubs.
