At least 11 US states say they plan to launch a legal battle against President Barack Obama's sweeping reforms of the healthcare system in the United States. The House of Representatives passed the president's healthcare bill on Sunday.
The Republican-controlled states say they will not accept the introduction of mandatory basic health insurance. They argue that it goes against the US constitution because it threatens the sovereignty of all 50 states.
President Obama is due to sign the legislation today.
