      US official jailed for spying for Cuba

      A former US State Department official and his wife have been convicted of spying for Cuba.

       

      Walter Kendall Myers, aged 72, was sentenced to life, his wife Gwendolyn, aged 71, to up to 7-and-half months. Mr Myers had top secret clearance and admitted to spying for Cuba for 30 years. The couple were arrested in June.
