US President Barack Obama says the US government is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 28 percent by 2020 to fight global warming.
The president said he had signed an executive order to reduce energy consumption and to use clean energy. He said the government, the country's biggest energy consumer, should set an example. The reduction would also result in significant savings. Last year the federal government spent 25 billion dollars on electricity and fuel.
