UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee has ended its meeting in the Spanish city of Sevilla.
The UN organisation has added 13 sites to the World Heritage List, including the Wadden Sea in the Netherlands and Germany, the Italian Dolomites mountain range, China's sacred Mt Wutai and a tomb in South Korea dating back to the Joseon dynasty. The World Heritage List includes 890 sites.
The Elbe valley near the city of Dresden in Germany was removed from the list because of the construction of a major bridge, only the second site ever to be dropped from the World Heritage List. A number of locations were placed on the so-called danger list, including a coral reef in Belize which is threatened by the destruction of mangrove forest.
