The Netherlands should do more to protect women’s rights, says a United Nations report.
A UN committee in charge of reviewing compliance with the women’s rights treaty had concerns over job opportunities for Dutch women. They fear that many women in the Netherlands are unwillingly working part-time. They point out that Dutch women are less likely to occupy executive positions and draw attention to the fact that Dutch women often earn less than Dutch men in similar positions.
The UN committee also highlights the Netherlands as not protecting victims of human trafficking. The Netherlands is listed by the UN as one of the top destinations for human trafficking. Out of the 809 registered victims of human trafficking in the Netherlands in 2008, more than 90% were women.
However, the committee found that the Dutch are very successful in preventing honour killings and female gentile mutilation. They also praise the Netherlands for making women’s rights an issue in their foreign policy agenda.

"Out of the 809 registered victims of human trafficking in the Netherlands in 2008, more than 90% were women.".......I am sure it is to satisfy the sex industry in the Netherlands. This is a prime example of Dutch, secular morality at it's best. The queen should be vocal about the abuse of women in the Netherlands but who will listen to her? The Dutch vicar, the Catholic church with it's abuses of young boys by it's priests, or the Muslims who treat women as chattel.
They prevent honour killings and body mutiliations but do not frown if women lose their honour in the red light areas...What kind of honour is this? Trafficking of women!...When a woman -Queen Beatrix is the head of state and Princess Maxima very vocal about microcredit, how about being vocal about restoring honour of the trafficked and Dutch women?
