UK airports to introduce full-body scanners

Published on 3 January 2010 - 6:11pm
More about:

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown says full-body scanners are going to be introduced at all of Britain's airports.

Body scanners will first be installed at Heathrow, Europe's busiest airport. Eventually, all passengers will have to submit to a full body scan. A few days ago the Netherlands introduced mandatory body scans on all flights to the United States. The move came after a Nigerian man tried to blow up a Northwest flight from Amsterdam as it approached Detroit on Christmas Day. Italy has announced it will introduce body scans in Rome and Milan.

I thought all the airports had full body scanners after 9/11. This should have been done that time only.
