Radio Netherlands Worldwide reporter Hans-Jaap Melissen says the bodies of two Dutch adults and their adopted child have been discovered in Haiti. They were found in the rubble of the collapsed Villa Therese hotel in the capital Port-au-Prince. The adults’ passports had been discovered earlier in the wreckage. The Dutch Foreign Ministry has not confirmed the deaths.
Another Dutch couple are known to have been staying in the Villa Therese hotel. They have not yet been found. The owner of the hotel says the bodies of a family with two children are still in the rubble.
Fourteen Dutch nationals who survived the earthquake are due to arrive at Eindhoven airport in the Netherlands on Sunday morning. Eight others are to depart from Port-au-Prince on Sunday for Brussels. Two other families were repatriated earlier. The Dutch Foreign Ministry says 18 Dutch, Aruban and Antillean citizens are still missing in Haiti.
