In Venezuela, the director of a television station has been arrested at the airport Punto Fijo in the west of the country. Guillermo Zuloaga is the head of Globovisión, a broadcasting station fiercely opposed to Socialist President Hugo Chávez.
Mr Zuloaga's was arrested for claiming that President Chávez's was attempting to silence all opposition against him in the media. The TV head said he was planning to fly from Punto Fijo by private jet to Bonaire to celebrate Easter, not to flee Venezuela.
Mr Zuloaga will probably be taken to the capital, Caracas, where he may be charged. At the beginning of the week, former governor Oswaldo Álvarez was arrested after voicing harsh criticism against President Chávez's government in an interview in Globovisión.

Enough of your BS, Anonymous! Tell me the name of just one US TV station that would be allowed to criticize the president in a most vicious way on a daily basis and not get shut down. Just one. Dictator? Wouldn't you Americans wish you had a president that cares about Main Street instead of always kissing Wall Street's behind.
If he is not trying to silence his critics, why did he have him arrested. Chavez just proved Zulouaga's point. This is the same thing the Democratic Party and the President are trying to do here in the US.
Apparently, speech is closely monitored and he was correct. No opposition voices. What do you expect from a brutal dictator?
