Car manufacturer Toyota has announced a worldwide recall of the latest model of its Prius range - the Prius 2010 - due to problems with the brake system.
The company says cars purchased this year are unaffected but that the brakes on 300,000 cars sold since the middle of last year have to be modified.
Hundreds of motorists in the United States reported problems with the brakes on the Prius 2010. Toyota hopes that the recall will help restore confidence in the brand.
Last week the company announced that it was recalling eight million cars of various models due to problems with the accelerator.
