TNT launches new overhaul plan

Published on 7 November 2009 - 2:45pm
More about:

TNT Post has put forward a new proposal to avoid the redundancy of 11,000 postmen.

Under the new plan postmen will have their net salary cut by 3.5 percent instead of seeing their gross salaries reduced by 15 percent. TNT refuses to say how much the difference amounts to. The new deal also envisages a 2012 salary freeze. Earlier this year union members voted against the 15 percent gross salary cut, which is aimed at avoiding lay-offs. Since then restructuring talks between management and the unions have been deadlocked. The latest proposal has been welcomed by the union as a step in the right direction.
