Three Dutch soldiers were wounded today in two separate incidents in the southern Afghan provice of Uruzgan, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Defence.
At Camp Hadrian, a Dutch base in the Deh Rawod district, two soldiers were wounded during a weapons test. The gun of a vehicle belonging to a coalition partner fired at an armoured vehicle close to where the two were standing. They were taken to the military hospital at Camp Holland. The military police have opened an enquiry into the circumstances that led to the incident. The Ministry of Defence says that such a weapons test is standard procedure at the start of a patrol.
The third soldier was wounded when the Bushmaster armoured vehicle in which he was sitting drove over an improvised explosive device in the Baluchi valley.
