Switzerland bars German Islamic preacher

Published on 11 December 2009 - 2:54pm
More about:

Switzerland has decided to stop German Islamic preacher Pierre Vogel from entering the country. Mr Vogel was due to speak at a rally in Bern against the Swiss ban on minarets.

But the Swiss authorities have ruled that the preacher's views are so radical that he forms a danger to public safety. Mr Vogel advocates the introduction of Sharia law and has courted controversy in the past by making strongly worded statements against homosexuals.

In a referendum last month, the people of Switzerland backed a ban on building more minarets in the country. On Saturday the country's central Muslim council is due to demonstrate against the ban.

1. "Switzerland has decided to stop German Islamic preacher Pierre Vogel from entering the country. Mr Vogel was due to speak at a rally in Bern against the Swiss ban on minarets.".....The British did the same thing with Wilders. Is Vogel an European citizen and entitled to the same rights as Mr. Wilders or is this a ploy by the Swiss authorities to keep him out of Switzerland until everything has calm down. 2. "But the Swiss authorities have ruled that the preacher's views are so radical that he forms a danger to public safety." Mr Vogel advocates the introduction of Sharia law and has courted controversy in the past by making strongly worded statements against homosexuals........Didn't the British justify Wilders' denied entry because he was too radical. 3. "In a referendum last month, the people of Switzerland backed a ban on building more minarets in the country. On Saturday the country's central Muslim council is due to demonstrate against the ban.".........In a free society, people are allowed to demonstrate in a peaceful manner. In a free society people like Wilders and Vogel have a right to express their views in a peaceful manner. It appears the EU is not a free society as people makes it out to be. In another 10 years, you will find you have no freedoms and no way to take it back. If it is good for Wilders it must be good for Vogel, right?
