The Myanmar opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi says she did not contravene the conditions of her house arrest after an American man spent two days in her home.
The nobel prize winner is on trial for allegedly allowing the man to stay at her home while under house arrest.
Ms Suu Kyi told the court she was not aware of his visit in advance. The American, who is also on trial, swam to Ms Suu Kyi's house recently. He stayed there for two days.
At a joint summit in the Vietnamese capital Hanoi, the European Union and the ASEAN Association of Southeast Asian Nations have called on the junta in Myanmar (formerly Burma) to release Ms Suu Kyi.
