Suicide bombings in Afghanistan

Ten civilians have been killed and 13 others injured in a suicide bombing at a market in the Afghan province of Uruzgan.

Police say the bomber was actually trying to blow up a convoy belonging to the Afghan security forces. A number of those injured are being treated at Dutch military bases in Uruzgan.
 

Earlier in the day, two US soldiers were killed in a suicide bombing in the neighbouring province of Zabul.
