Bomb attacks have claimed lives in two separate incidents in Pakistan. In the eastern city of Lahore, a suicide car bomb attack on a Mosque just after Friday prayers left at least four dead and 90 injured, according to hospital reports.
Pakistani police says that among those killed is a prominent cleric known for speaking out against the Taliban. In the northwest, close to Peshawar, at least three people died and dozens were injured, also in a suicide attack at a mosque. The attack in Lahore has been claimed by the Taliban, which also said it was responsible for an attack on a luxury hotel in Peshawar earlier this week. Northwestern Pakistan has seen a string of attacks in recent weeks, as Taliban rebels seek revenge for the Pakistani military operation in the Swat Valley.
