Sudan has lodged a complaint with the United Nations Security Council against its neighbour Chad.
Sudan said Chadian planes had bombed an area of West Darfur on Thursday. The area is thought to be the base for Chadian rebels opposed to the rule of Chad’s President Idriss Deby Itno. Khartoum says it was the fourth air raid in two months and that several civilians had been killed.
Chad has not responded to the allegations. Instead, the government in N'Djamena has said its forces have bombed rebel positions on its own territory. It added that it has the right to bomb Chadian rebels who hide in Sudan.
Sudan and Chad have repeatedly accused each other of supporting rebels on their territory.
